1. Installation and connections

2. Description of the connections

SENSOR Connector for the load cell.

RS-485 Connection for communications. T1, T2 2 threads connections (internal end load line).. T1, T2, T3, T4 4 threads connections (internal end load line or ring connection).

AL-C Relay of alarm .

220 Power supply connection.

3. Keys of access to the parameters of menu’s

The unit has a menu to accede to the adjustment of the parameters

Pressing this key successively, will go going to all programmable parameters of the menu in a cycle way.

To return to the visual presentation of weight, press the key several time until to arrive at the end of the menu, or just press it during 2 seconds.

Pressing this key enters in the selected option and once inside we will be able to select the digit to modify.

Pressing this key will modify the selected digit. Also by pressing this key when you are located on the selected parameter, the display presents its content.

Note: If we press this key, when the unit is presenting the weight, we can see the version of Firmware.

4. Modification of the parameter

A) MODIFICACIÓN DE UNA ALARMA

1) Press the key successively until being place on the desired parameter.

2) Press the key to enter in modification of the parameter, being the left digit in intermittent.

3) Put in the display the wanted value, using this keys .

4) Press the key twice to save the assignated value. Then the display will present the next parameter.

Remarks: a) If you haven’t press 2 times, the operation will not stored, and the display presents again the parameters that you was modifying.

b) To modify the parameters and , please consult section No.7 (Calibration of the unit).

5. Programming structure of the menu’s

Alarm

Weight control level to which will change the state of the relay. Steps to follow to change this parameter:

1.- Situate on the menú.

2.- Press to enter in the parameter. 3.- Change the weight control level with &

4.- Press . 5.- Change the state of rest of the relay witha .

6.- Press 2 times to save the value. In the event of pressing one time, you comes out without saving. 6. Calibration of the Unit

This section is necessary so that the unit knows the relationship between the signal of the cell and the weight introduced in the cabin. There are two ways to calibrate the unit:

I) NORMAL CALIBRATION (Valid for all types of load cells).

1) SETTING OF THE ZERO:

a) Situate in the option of menú

b) Check that the cabin is empty and press the key . The press while the display is intermittent to confirm the setting to zero. The operation will be confirmed starting with a count-down. And when it finished, the display will present the parameter .

Note: If you don't press the before finishing the intermittence, the operation will not stored, and the display presents again the parameter .

2) ADJUST OF THE WEIGHT: (It is important to do the setting of the zero before doing this operation).

a) Situate in the option of menú .

b) Introduce inside the cabin a well-known weight (It is recommended at least as minimum 50% of the

complete load) & press .

c) Put the value of the weight placed in the cabin using the keys .

d) To save the value press the key 2 times (The unit will start to count -down and the value will be

save). Then the display will present the next parameter .

Note: If you haven't press the or the 2nd time, the operation will not stored, and the display presents again the parameter .

II) CALIBRATION OF THE CELL FOR DIRECT TRANSMISSION

To fulfill this operation it is not necessary to introduce a well-known weight.

1) SETTING OF THE ZERO (same as the operation of the normal calibration). 2) ADJUST OF THE WEIGHT:

a) Situate in the option of menú .

b) To enter and be able to assigned a value press

c) Put the calibrated value of the cell using this keys & .

(This data comes at the end of the cables, and it belongs to the calibration value of the manufacturer.).

d) To save the value press the key 2 times(The value stored in the memory).then the display will present the next parameter .

Note: If you haven't press for the 2nd time the operation will not stored, and the display presen again the parameter

7. Factory calibration

Parameter that is programmed in the factory to adjust the sensibility of the unit. For defect, the value is 5000, but when it is an in-house calibration the value is indicated in the label located at the back part of the unit.

Note: When this parameter is adjusted, it also carried out automatically the operation .

8. Filter of Entrance

Filter of entrance that can have a value between 0 and 9. This parameter is to give stability to the signal of he cell. If the filter is very small the sampling speed increases, but the reading is more unstable, if the filter is very big the stability is good, but the unit is slow. In the cases in those that the application doesn't require speed, it is recommended to put the filter at the value of 9.

9. Analogical signal output

The output signal is an analogical signal that can be selected between 0-10V or 4-20mA, that could carried out in the configuration of the parameter. To adjust the output signal it is necessary to give two points of reference that define a straight line.

Value of the display for which the output signal will be at minimum.

Value of the display for which the output signal will be at maximum.

10. Configuration of display & analogical output

The configuration of display and the analogical output can have 3 values.

11. Decimal numbers of the display

Number of decimals after the decimal point.

12. Configurations of communications

The unit has drivers RS-485 to accede on the parameters and power to read the weight in a remote way. To configure the communications it has 2 parameters.

Allows to choose the type of connection.

=0 connection to 2 threads (T1, T2). Allows to connect up to 20 units in parallel. Each unit has an internal resistance that you can use like an end load line connecting to an external thread from T1 to C1.

=1 connection to 4 threads (T1 y T2 to receive, T3 y T4 to send). Allows to connect up to 10 units in parallel. Each unit has an internal resistance that you can use like an end load line connecting to an external thread like in the case of 2 threads.

=2 connection in ring (T1 y T2 to receive, T3 y T4 to send on the next unit).

Allows to connect up to 10 units. Normally it doesn't need the end load line.

Communication Address (1-254).

13. Mode of low consumption

As the display is the most that consumes and it is not an element that is visible. It has been keep in mind a way of a low consumption, that once the display turns off automatically, the display presents a rotating segment to indicate that it is continuesly working.

Cases that the unit enters in the function of low consumption.

1) When connecting the unit to the power supply, it presents the weight during 3 minutes, and in the event of not pressing any key, automatically it will pass to the mode of low consumption. 2) When it passed one hour since the last time that having pressed the key.

3) When the unit is presenting the weight, pressing the key during two seconds. Note: - To leave the function of low consumption just press any key.

- You can cancelled it in the configuration.

14. Electrical Characteristics Model: ADS-420

Nominal tension: 220 V Nominal current: 60 mA Nominal frequency: 50-60 Hz

Fuse: 100mA.

15. Change of the fuse

1) Disconnect the unit 2) Open the unit removing the 5 screws that hold the back cover. 3) Take out the circuit of the box, and change the fuse that is in the vertical free mounting
