Proof of effectiveness against viruses and bacteria

The coating was tested by two independent laboratories. At the Institute for Hygiene and Microbiology, tests were carried out in accordance with ISO 21702:2019 (measurement of antiviral activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces). The bovine coronavirus (BCoV) (a proxy for human coronaviruses) was used for this purpose. The tests showed a reduction in BCoV titres of 98.68 %.

In the Laboratory of Microbiology Hygiene, Environment & Medicine, the effect on bacteria was investigated according to ISO 22196:2011-08 "Plastics - Measurements of antibacterial activity on plastic surfaces" and JIS Z 2801:2000 "Antimicrobial products; Test for antimicrobial activity and eefficacy". For this purpose, the bacterial growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538 and Escherichia coli ATCC 8739 was tested against a control material and strong antibacterial activity was demonstrated.
